Can you get a verichip removed

Postby Awoken » Mon Nov 20, 2006 1:49 pm

Thats my question, does anyone know?

If I got a chip fitted (I never would) at a night club after having a few beers and regretted it the next day would I be able to get it removed easy enough?
Ive seen it mentioned it could be messy but I dont know how it all goes.

Good question Awoken.

I do understand it's difficult to get removed, I'll make some detailed enquiries.

I rang my local main hospital (Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport 0161 483 1010), they couldn't help and told me to contact my GP, they did say it wasn't a procedure they would do there.

So I rang my local GP surgery and asked if they could remove a Verichip implant. At first they wanted to know why I asked and I told them I was asking for an 'anonymous friend', they couldn't give me any information and said that I should get my friend to contact his GP if he had a chip implanted that he wanted removing to talk about it further.

I believe it would be messy and base it on a few facts I uncovered during research, one of these from the horses mouth is that it was put to Verichip that their implant may be dangerous as it could travel to different areas of the body. The reply to this was that this wasn't the case as body tissue would meld and grow around the Verichip lodging it in place.

I'll look a little more deeply into this issue and get back to you.

You could get a recent one out easy enough I'd think, but if it had been there long enough for the nerves and muscles to grow round it you'd lose the use of your arm (if it was implanted there.)
